Sustainable Beauty Award finalists announced

LONDON –Finalists of the inaugural Sustainable Beauty Awards have been selected. Organic Monitor, organiser of the first-ever awards dedicated to sustainability in the beauty industry, received an overwhelming response to the call for nominations. Over 100 award entries were received from beauty companies in Europe, North & Latin America, Asia, Australasia and Africa.
The aim of the Sustainable Beauty Awards is to give recognition to cosmetic and ingredient firms who are pushing the boundaries of sustainability in the beauty industry. After much deliberation and critical review, three finalists (listed in alphabetical order) have been selected per award category:
Sustainability PioneerApivita, L’Oreal USA – Garnier, Primavera Life
The sustainability pioneer award is given to a cosmetic or ingredient firm that is a leader / pioneer in some aspect of sustainability.
Sustainability Leadership Firmenich, Laboratoires Expanscience, Weleda
This award is given to a cosmetics or ingredients firm that is leading in various aspects of sustainability. The company is displaying overall leadership in sustainability and not mastering a few areas.
Sustainable Packaging Laboratoires Expanscience, Seventh Generation, You Organic Skincare
This award is given to a cosmetics brand / packaging firm with a new packaging that has low environmental footprint in terms of design and / or materials.
Sustainable Ingredient Alban Muller International, AkzoNobel Surface Chemistry, International Flavors & Fragrances
This award is given to a cosmetic ingredient that makes a significant difference in sustainability, in terms of environmental and / or social impact.
Green Formulations Alteya Organics, Dr. Bronner's Magic Soaps, Jasmin Skincare
This award is given to a cosmetic brand with a high level of green (natural / organic) ingredients in product formulations.
The winners of each awards category will be announced at the Sustainable Beauty Awards reception in Paris on 21st October. The reception will take place at the Paris Marriott Champs Elysées, hosted alongside the European edition of the Sustainable Cosmetics Summit in Paris on 21-23 October.
