Cosmoprof Las Vegas Deals New Features and Finesses Favorites

Cosmoprof North America (CPNA), the award-winning premier beauty trade show, will take place July 13–15, 2014 at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center in Las Vegas. More than 900 companies (approximately 100 are packaging exhibitors) are expected to participate in this year’s event, which covers all sectors of the beauty industry, including nail, beauty, skincare, hair, spa and packaging. 

We anticipate an increase over 2013’s attendance of more than 26,000 during this three-day event where both exhibitors and attendees will come together to explore the newest products and trends all in one venue. In addition to the valuable networking events, we will continue to offer our award-winning educational conferences and business platform initiatives. This year, we are happy to announce that Marc Cuban (of ABC’s “Shark Tank”) will be the keynote speaker at the PBA Business Forum on Sunday, July 13, 8am-9:45am. Discover Beauty will be back for its eighth year and will continue to feature distinctive brands from around the world. For these 

brands, we as show organizers arrange pre-scheduled sales meetings and events with important retailers; it’s a very successful program that has received critical acclaim. I am happy to announce the initial Discover Beauty line-up for 2014: Coastal Salt & Soul, Doll Face Beauty, Drunk Elephant, Indie Lee, Karora Cosmetics, LightStim, Manuka Doctor, MD Solar Sciences, Monteil, Qiriness, Skin Nutrition, Skin&Co Roma and True Isaac Mizrahi.

The Discover Beauty program is a high-end, curated section centrally located on the show floor, combining the best of both worlds: a one-on-one customized buyer program complete with pre-arranged face-to-face meetings to take place in private meeting room spaces, as well as a traditional exhibition presentation. This allows the brands to enjoy the exposure to all attendees at the show, but it also guarantees face-to-face time with select specialty retail buyers to secure placement into key accounts. All Discover Beauty brands are automatically enrolled for the 2014 Discover Beauty Award. This award is given to one brand, which is recognized for its creativity in concept, packaging and overall ability to succeed in this competitive retail market. The winner is selected by industry leaders, beauty editors and participating retailers. The Discover Beauty Award winner will be announced on the evening of Sunday, July 13, 2014, as part of a private reception. 

Additionally, the widely successful Spotlights program, which was unveiled in 2012 to an overwhelming response, will be back highlighting the best in small niche beauty brands. It is also located in Discover Beauty. 

Focus on Packaging 


The show is welcoming back two initiatives that were unveiled in 2013 and focus on the packaging category. One-stop beauty shop, Boutique, with the latest in cosmetics, skincare, nails and hair and some classic beauty favorites is back with a special collaboration. CPNA is proud to announce the Boutique limited edition box, which will debut this July in Las Vegas and will go on sale to beauty consumers online in August 2014. Debuting at last year’s show as Beautique, the beauty shop highlighted deluxe-sized samples, including the latest in up-and-coming cosmetics, skin care, nails and hair. The concept was widely successful, and returns this year, as Boutique, a joint venture with Glossybox that enables both Glossybox and CPNA to present a unique opportunity for consumers to be the first to try new brands and products from Cosmoprof North America.Attendees will be able to hand pick seven deluxe samples from 20 featured exhibiting brands for a donation. All proceeds collected onsite will benefit City of Hope, a leading research, treatment and education center for cancer, diabetes and other life-threatening diseases. In August, following the show, the Boutique box will be available for sale exclusively on Glossybox.com. The limited edition box will feature seven products and will have a small run; once it is sold out—it is gone! Exhibitors participating in this program will benefit from enhanced visibility on the show floor as well as consumer and social media visibility before and after the show. Together, Glossybox and CPNA designed the box and selected the brands for this first of its kind collaboration. 

Packaging continues to be a growing category, as all beauty brands want to produce the most attractive product. I am very very happy to welcome back the One-On-One Packaging Meetings. The meetings will take place in Pavilion B (Packaging), where a small delegation of buyers who are responsible for purchasing packaging components will come to meet with our exhibitors on Sunday, July 13th for pre-scheduled one-on-one meetings looking to see what is new in the packaging world. At CPNA, we pride ourselves on emphasizing the importance of this category by offering both exhibitors and attendees innovative packaging concepts that will effectively communicate any brand message. More than 60 packaging exhibitors are expected.
