Olay Launches First-Ever Moisturizer in a Glass Jar

Today, Olay has launched Olay Super Cream with SPF 30—the brand's first-ever moisturizer in a glass jar.

The brand states that the jar "perfectly complements the luxurious formula."

Olay's new Super Cream with SPF 30 is a "5-in-1 multi-tasking marvel," the brand says, because it hydrates, smooths, firms, brightens, and protects the skin.

The "breakthrough moisturizer" blends five potent actives into one highly effective product—Vitamin C, Niacinamide, Hyaluronic Acid, Vitamin E, and Collagen Peptide. Plus, it offers broad spectrum SPF 30.

Olay's Super Cream instantly absorbs without leaving a white cast on any skin tone, and delivers sheer UVA/UVB protection. It has a barely-there feel and a light scent. 

Does it work? In a 12-week consumer study, 94% of participants agreed the product provided long-lasting hydration and 82% said it improved the look of their skin's texture.

Olay Pioneered Refillable Plastic Packaging for Skincare 

Olay is known for being at the forefront of innovation when it comes to sustainable packaging. Its moisturizers in plastic jars also feel luxe.

The move to glass is a big deal because Olay was the first major skincare brand to test refillable plastic packaging, back in 2019.

Olay Regenerist Whip moisturizer debuted six years ago with recyclable refill pods in an attempt to cut plastic waste. Next, Olay launched a Pink Ribbon edition of the refillable jar.

At the time, the P&G team said that if it moved a significant portion of its Olay Regenerist Whip moisturizer jars to refillable pods, it would be equivalent to 5 million jars—and save over one million pounds of plastic.
